ROSENKRANZ WRONG TO ATTACK ASHRAM

Article Text:
In response to the article regarding the
Rosenkranz divorce settlement ("Rosenkranzes reach tentative
settlement," Aug. 4), Kashi's continuing position is that this was
a nasty divorce to which it was not party. Richard Rosenkranz is an angry man
with a personal vendetta bent on smearing Ma Jaya and Kashi. His attacks are
false
and unfounded.
Kashi has been a peaceful interfaith spiritual
community for 25 years, with members from many religious traditions. However,
as Mr. Rosenkranz well knows,
alternative communities are easily misunderstood and targeted.
He spent many years defending Kashi. He was asked
to leave because of grossly unprofessional and undiplomatic practices, which
did not represent the spirit of Kashi. A prime example was his behavior during this divorce.
He fabricated, exaggerated and alleged abuse at
every turn. But he is quoted now as saying "that he was fine supporting
Gina" all along. If so, why didn't he settle a
year ago? If genuinely concerned with the alleged abuse of his son, why did he
settle now? Any parent in his right mind would fight to the end to protect his
child.
Richard states that people have left Kashi, but he
omitted that the few who have moved on are not negative and continue to
maintain deep and long-term
relationships.
Charges of brainwashing and cult-bashing have no
place in the legal system; Rosenkranz has known this for years. So it is
especially ironic that as founder of the
Interfaith Call for Religious Freedom, he would use such charges to denigrate
the right to worship as one chooses.
Kashi has touched millions of lives over the last
25 years and will continue to do so. Light always prevails over darkness.
